The seat: own everything the company runs on that is not the product — our self-hosted repository (datasets, trained models, source, container images), registries, backups you have actually restored from, and the internal tools that keep a small team out of spreadsheets: hiring, issue tracking, firmware records, compliance, billing. Write the runbook so it survives your holiday. Keep it boring on purpose.

Looking for: 1-3 years of production code — or less, with work we can actually look at: internships, real side projects, open source. An API in Python or Node, a screen in React, and the Dockerfile that ships both. At home on Linux. The strongest signal: you self-host for real — object storage, registries, CI runners, or a homelab you genuinely maintain.
