OpenTriage
An intelligent issue-matching engine that connects beginner developers with open-source bugs tailored exactly to their skill set.
The biggest barrier to open-source growth is the "cold start" problem: beginners don't know where to contribute, and maintainers are overwhelmed by triage. OpenTriage is a lightweight web application that analyzes a developer's GitHub profile (languages used, previous commits) and scans repositories tagged with "good first issue".
Unlike standard search, OpenTriage uses a matching algorithm to recommend specific issues the user actually has the context to solve. It also provides a one-click "Local Dev Setup" guide generated from the repository's README to get them coding faster.
Impact: Lowers the barrier to entry for FOSS contribution, helps maintainers clear backlogs, and fosters a healthier open-source ecosystem.
