SMART KRISHI

AI and IoT driven precision agriculture system that enables real time soil intelligence, autonomous irrigation decisions, and low connectivity farm monitoring using edge computing and LoRa.

Description

Smart Krishi is an edge first precision agriculture system designed to bring continuous soil intelligence and autonomous decision making to farms with poor connectivity. The platform combines ESP32 based IoT nodes, industrial soil sensing, and long range LoRa communication to monitor real time field conditions and trigger data driven irrigation actions.

Unlike many agriculture solutions that depend heavily on cloud processing, Smart Krishi pushes intelligence closer to the farm. Sensor nodes collect parameters such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, pH, and nutrient indicators, and transmit them through a low power LoRa network to a gateway. The system is designed to function reliably in low bandwidth rural environments and can operate in offline first scenarios.

The core focus of the project is to build a reproducible, open, and hardware aware farm intelligence stack. During the hackathon, the team is extending Smart Krishi with enhanced edge decision logic and improved real time monitoring reliability to demonstrate how small scale farms can benefit from continuous data driven irrigation support without depending on proprietary platforms.

Smart Krishi is released under a FOSS license to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and community driven improvement.
