CivicLens – Smart City Civic Issue Management Platform

A smart city platform that enables citizens to report civic issues and ensures transparent, automated resolution through role-based administration and real-time tracking.

Description

CivicLens is a smart city governance platform designed to improve how civic issues are reported, managed, and resolved in urban environments. The platform enables citizens to report local issues such as damaged roads, streetlight failures, or waste management problems through a mobile application by submitting images and location details.

Once a report is submitted, the system performs data validation and spam detection, including AI-based checks to identify fake or AI-generated images. Validated reports are automatically forwarded to the appropriate category administrator based on the issue type. The administrator monitors incoming issues through dashboards and map-based views and assigns tasks to verified field workers who are currently available.

Field workers receive assigned tasks through a dedicated mobile app, navigate to the issue location using integrated maps, complete the work, and upload proof images. Administrators then review the submitted proof and either approve or request rework. Upon approval, the issue is marked as resolved and the citizen is notified.

CivicLens also includes a Super Admin role that provides district-level analytics, issue trends, performance metrics, and heatmaps across all departments. By digitizing the entire workflow and enforcing role-based access, CivicLens improves transparency, accountability, and response times, making it suitable for real-world smart city and municipal deployments.
